Who left the piano in the rain?
I played the piano for the first time in three weeks last Sabbath at the church. I had asked Elias about it and he said it didn't work at all because they had left it out in the rain during construction. Now, leaving a piano out in the rain doesn't exactly leave much promise of it actually working, much less delivering any kind of pleasant sound. So, I didn't even consider trying it out. But after three weeks, I'll have to admit, I was getting a little desperate. So, I tried it, and it wasn't half bad. I mainly played the middle part of the piano, it's out of tune and some keys don't work, but hey, it was a nice reminder that I can still play. God has given me the talent to play and I have asked him to provide me with whatever is best, whenever is best. In the meantime, I've thought about it and I think not having a piano around gives me an opportunity to develop other areas of my life that may need more attention. I don't necessarily want my identity to be wrapped up in a musical instrument. "Oh yeah, Jonathan, he's a nice guy and I think he plays the piano pretty good too." No...that doesn't cut it. Music is definitely one of my biggest passions in life, but I know there's a whole lot more to life than music. I'm thankful for the time I have to discover more of who God has made me to be.

That's a cool picture of the keyboard! I can just hear that piano as you describe it so well. Glad you found a place to play. Life gets lonely without a piano around. I know- I didn't really have access to one for 15 yrs. It's easy to get wrapped up in other titles & identities, but ultimately we are all children of God.
Great perspective and outlook on facing life the way it is, rather than wishing it were different. Trusting God to provide what you need puts God in the driver seat. I find that it takes daily surrender to leave Him there.
It's neat the way God gives us experiences that push us outside of what we're used to and beyond what we feel most comfortable with. God has given you a tremendous talent for music and sharing Him through the keyboard. I hope it is exciting for you as you ponder what other areas of your life God plans on developing for His greater glory :)
the piano out in the rain!. Unimaginable here in Bangalore, there are just about a only a dozen pianos left in the churches of Bangalore...and they are cared for very well. It costs a big sum to repair them, most spares are easily not available and still have to be imported!. I wish I had one at home, even though I can't play it.
I finally got myself a lovely Roland keyboard and like it because they have copied the true sound so well.
I compose on the piano but with multitalent I've not developed it as I would like - I need more than one lifetime for all i could do - sounds cocky, but I am dead serious. You said Sabbath. Is that Jewish?
